Today I am not going to be writing my own post but rather share one with you that I found really useful and I think that you would to. Some time ago I did some research about social bookmarking sites and how valuable their backlinks to your site are. The reason fir this is that I have been using quite a few social bookmarking sites at that stage and noticed that a lot of them provided nofollow links back to your site.

How does page rank work
PageRank uses the Internet’s link structure as an indication of each Web page’s relevancy value.
To give you an example of how page rank work within a site: Imagine, you build a pyramid of buckets and all the buckets in the pyramid have little holes in it. Now if you keep filling the buckets with water then the water will flow through the pyramid to the other buckets, which means that there is less water in the main bucket. Now, imagine the buckets are the pages within your site (including the pages where all your links point to as well), the holes are the links and the page rank is the water.
