squidoo Making money with SquidooSquidoo is certainly worth spending some time with as Google loves this and getting good rankings with this site is pretty easy. Google also sees Squidoo as a authority site so that means that you get some quality links back to your site.

So now you’re probably wondering you can make money with this site right? Here is a quick guide which will show you exactly how you can profit by using Squidoo.

Firstly you will have to do some keyword research to find a keyword that has a lot of searches with little competition. If you don’t know how to do this then browse through our keyword research category. There is more than enough information and videos for you to do this correctly.

Now, when you find your keyword, or keywords, build a lens around this keyword. Squidoo makes it pretty easy to build a lens so if this is your first time then don’t stress. Anyone can do it. Remember to provide valuable information and don’t just suck something out your thumb. The important thing about web 2.0 sites is that you have to keep in mind that people are looking for valuable information and looking to connect with one another. So try to give good information and don’t just blatantly tell them to click here and buy a product. The art of Web2.0 is to sell without selling. Use your words in a careful way and not in a sales way.

When you build a lens, Squidoo has some criteria for a lens before it will rank that lens in its featured results. So the trick here, and I’ve tested this a few times, is to build as many modules as possible. You break up your content into subheadings and build each section into a module (we will have a video on this a bit later). Then add your blog’s rss feed if you have one (and I recommend you do start a blog, even if it just the landing page for your product).

Also upload your images to Flickr and then add it on your lens. Squidoo has a Flickr module where you can easily add Flickr photos.

Getting links from your lens to your site

When you add links to your money site, from your lens, try not to add more than 2 links. In my testing, I’ve realized that when you start adding more that 2 links then Squidoo starts to nofollow your links and this will result in the links not helping you anything.

Keep watching your dashboard till you see that Squidoo shows you the green mark next to your lens. When you see this then you will know that your lens is featured in their search results.

Getting traffic to your lens.

Like any other site or web page, you will still need some links to start getting traffic to your pages. We all know that without traffic, there will be no sales.

Here is a few tips that you can do to get the traffic to your lens easily:

  • Blog about your lens
  • Social Bookmark your lens
  • Do article submissions your lens
  • Comment on other Similar Squidoo lenses (please make valuable comments and not some spam comment like “nice lens”)
  • If you have a mailing list then tell your subscribers them about it.
  • Exchange links with other sites

When you are finished with your links and added your affiliate products or links to your site then make sure to add a little bit of content to your lens every now and again.

If you do these simple steps then you will be well on your way to seeing really great results with Squidoo.
