Today I am not going to be writing my own post but rather share one with you that I found really useful and I think that you would to. Some time ago I did some research about social bookmarking sites and how valuable their backlinks to your site are. The reason fir this is that I have been using quite a few social bookmarking sites at that stage and noticed that a lot of them provided nofollow links back to your site.

So as I was searching I came across a very interesting post. This guy did a test on +-250 social bookmarking sites to see which ones are actually worth getting backlinks from.

Four reasons why Internet Marketing is so much better than conventional marketing

So the title may be a bit misleading as we all know that conventional marketing tactics is ultimately what Internet Marketing is built upon. However, there is no denying that Internet Marketing is a different animal all together. On the top of my head I can think of many reasons why I enjoy Internet Marketing way more than non-Internet marketing. Here are four of them:

PeopleJar, a startup that hopes to help users with similar interests connect using a highly-customizable search engine, has soft launched to the public.

The site is very well done, sporting a clean and intuitive interface, an exhaustively customizable search engine, and generally high production values. After creating a detailed profile that includes information on their education, country of origin, and interests, users can browse through a number of Networks ranging from Science and Technology to Yoga. Each Network behaves much like a Facebook Group, allowing users to post public messages to a Wall, and connect with other members of the same group.

The importance of being ’seen’

Getting seen on the internetIf you have a website, or just want to make money on the internet then the most important part is to get visitors to your pages. Without visitors you will not make money or generate any sales. This step is called SEO (search engine optimization).

SEO is the process in optimizing your web pages in certain ways, so that you will get more traffic from targeted keywords and at the same time optimizing it in terms of how search engines reads your pages.

I am not going into to much depth with SEO but basically there are two parts to SEO. The first one is “on page optimization” where you optimize for users via keywords etc. and for search engines. The second part is “off page optimization”. On page optimization counts for 15% and off page counts 75% when it comes to search engines.
