If you are new to html and don’t know what it looks like then just write click on a web page and choose “view source”. Here we will be discussing the seven important html elements:

Title tag
The title tag is probably the most important html element on your web page and counts a lot when it comes to your rankings. It looks like this:
<title>This is your title</title>

When you write your title, then always try to think in terms of a marketing point of view and not just what search engines will see. A title that looks attractive, means that you will get more clicks on your results and that leading to more conversions. Also use your primary keywords at least once and to to place them at the start of the tag for a good prominence.

It is not a new term in the online world anymore but is still an very effective way of telling Google which pages on your site should get more attention and will definitely help you in your rankings as well.

How does page rank work
PageRank uses the Internet’s link structure as an indication of each Web page’s relevancy value.

To give you an example of how page rank work within a site: Imagine, you build a pyramid of buckets and all the buckets in the pyramid have little holes in it. Now if you keep filling the buckets with water then the water will flow through the pyramid to the other buckets, which means that there is less water in the main bucket. Now, imagine the buckets are the pages within your site (including the pages where all your links point to as well), the holes are the links and the page rank is the water.

The importance of being ’seen’

Getting seen on the internetIf you have a website, or just want to make money on the internet then the most important part is to get visitors to your pages. Without visitors you will not make money or generate any sales. This step is called SEO (search engine optimization).

SEO is the process in optimizing your web pages in certain ways, so that you will get more traffic from targeted keywords and at the same time optimizing it in terms of how search engines reads your pages.

I am not going into to much depth with SEO but basically there are two parts to SEO. The first one is “on page optimization” where you optimize for users via keywords etc. and for search engines. The second part is “off page optimization”. On page optimization counts for 15% and off page counts 75% when it comes to search engines.
